We finally had a hard frost here. It was becoming a bit ridiculous with borage still blooming away in the garden and I tried very hard not to imagine the bumper crop of bugs we'd get this summer if things carried on in this way.
But both yesterday and this morning we woke up to a dusting of ice crystals, and I was pleased. Cold, but pleased.
We've been exceptionally busy with youth and junior youth and children's class activities/retreats/meetings/home visits/planning. I am doing as much as I can now as once school starts and Simon is travelling again, my time to give to these areas is limited at best.
But yesterday we stopped and went for a short hike on our way to a meeting and more home visits. Because there was frost. And sun (sun!). And even though our toes and ears got rather nippy, it was so, so good to be out in it just for a little while.
We may sneak out again today.
Yes, it's cold, but very brrr-ight!
