This is a wonderful post about numbers! I love the entire of making friend with the numbers....understanding each one. My kids have been homeschooling for a year now after 2 years in school and they JUSTrecently regained their love of numbers.

Amanda

*idea* of making friends.

You might check out the book, "The Man Who Counted", wonderful stories on the mysticism of numbers in prosaic form. They are written in the style of sufi teaching stories. They are best read aloud, wonderfully engaging for the whole family.

I was horrible at math and hated it as a child. In graduate school I realized that it was all due to poor instruction. If only I had understood the importance of 0 as you explain it I might have liked math.

I'm looking forward to the next set of numbers!
