He is nine now. Which is very big in many ways, but not, he says, nearly so big as ten. So I'm not to worry.
We celebrated him (because how could we not) with balloons and cupcakes, dancing, crafts and lit candles.
No one, but no one, is as good at having fun as a group of not so big boys.
And the day after, he had a day off from school which meant that he got to stay home to read Calvin and Hobbes and build his new lego sets with the help of a friend (and maybe his mother).
He is a dear boy with a sweet heart and a decidedly cheerful outlook on this life. We are very glad to have him in ours.
happy birthday to your sweet son!
