Well, we are all operating back at one hundred per cent, our muscles settling back into normal patterns of behaviour, our bruises fading to yellow. We went for a family hike yesterday, so you know it musn't have been too traumatic. ;)
I have a question for the photographers amongst you. I need to print my photos for the show. Where would you recommend for digital printing online? I would like 5x5, matte, black and white with a white border. If any of you could enlighten me, I would be deeply grateful. Deeeeply.
Oh, you would like a peek at the photos?
Are you sure?
All right. Here you go, the first three of twelve:

I've been using http://www.mpix.com/productsinfo.aspx So far they have done a good job, I know you can get 5x5 matte, black and white, I'm not sure about the border as I prefer not to have them.
Some places take forever to upload pictures, mpix is pretty fast which is nice. Shipping in the US is quick too.

We also use mpix. Last year we had a problem (which was our fault based on our misunderstanding) that they remedied immediately at no cost to us.

Sorry I can't advise you as to printing - your work is far superior to mine. But I just wanted to say that these are lovely.

Absolutely beautiful photos. I have also heard good things about Mpix online but have never ordered from them.

I really love White House Custom Color (www.whcc.com). They do a great job. The only bad thing is that you have to set up an account with them, which can take a few days. But their printing is excellent.
Beautiful photos, by the way!

your photos are stunning!!! Sadly, i know nothing about online photo printing (so maybe you can share your learnings once you figure it out??)

I have used whcc.com. The prints are BEAUTIFUL. The two problems, though, are you'll have to set up an account and download software and they don't do white borders- you have to add them with photoshop or something similar.
But I've been SO happy with the print quality. I don't know what they charge to ship internationally either.

I use a great crowd in Australia, I don't know if they ship to Africa but you could try.
www.expressphoto.com.au
Online registration is very easy, uploading is reasonable, pay by secure credit card online.
I have used them for thousands of prints, and for enlargements as well.
Love the photos so far, looking forward to seeing the rest.

Hi, i read your blog on a daily routine. My mom is South African and i feel very much attached to Africa. We used to go there twice a year when i was a kid. but i haven't been back for over 5 years now and it's killing me. we're planning to go back next year.
so nice to see Africa through your eyes and daydream... wish you well on your journey.
i order all my pics from http://www.kodakgallery.com/Welcome.jsp. but i have never ordered black and white. and i don't know if they offer a white rim.
wishing you good luck with the pics. take care, erika

I recommend using MPix. They offer the most options at the best price I've found. They are pretty quick, with most things having 24-hour turnaround. The photos I've ordered on the true b&w paper have turned out very well. Good luck. Those photos are wonderful! Linsay
